Designed from the ground up to be a leader in the solar industry.
Geoscape Solar was founded by a diverse team with many different skills, strengths, and backgrounds. The one thing we all have in common: We Believe in Solar Energy!
Jeff Chavkin President
Chavkin co-founded Geoscape Solar with the goal of reducing both American dependence on foreign oil and greenhouse gas emissions through mass adoption of solar energy. Prior to founding Geoscape Solar, Chavkin worked for 21 years on the commodity floor of the New York Stock Exchange as an options market maker. His trading experience is uniquely relevant to Geoscape Solar’s activities in managing the two commodity elements of solar installations – government-granted renewable energy certificates and the basic electricity produce from the sun. As president chief development officer of Geoscape Solar, Chavkin is responsible for the company’s aggregation and trading of renewable energy certificates.
Chief Executive Officer
Michael Boches’ experience with solar energy began in 1985. In college, Boches worked for a solar company – starting as a telemarketer and, through steady promotions, becoming corporate comptroller. After receiving his MBA from Wharton School of Business, Boches embarked on a 20-year career in investment banking and corporate development. Boches executed billions of dollars of equity and debt financings and corporate mergers in a wide range of industries. From 2000 to 2007, Boches ran the corporate development group at Verizon, leading a team of more than 14 professionals in assessing and structuring strategic opportunities. From 1987 to 2000 he was an investment banker at Bear Stearns, Smith Barney and Chemical Bank with increasingly senior roles in telecommunications, high yield, structured finance, syndications and restructuring. As Chief Executive Officer, Boches is responsible for Geoscape Solar’s finance, administration, system design and operational strategy.
